So, you're not crazy about vegetables and fruit. You have to wash 'em, slice 'em and dice 'em. But hang on a sec, don't give up on this important food group yet. There are so many vegetables and fruit to choose, it could just be that you haven't found your favourite ones yet.
Here are some suggestions to get you on the good food track:
- Visit your local grocery store and stalk the vegetable and fruit aisle. Pick out some new vegetables and exotic fruit that you’d like to try.
- Ask your friends what vegetables and fruit they like − and try them.

Vegetables and fruit are power-packed with vitamins and minerals that keep your body in shape, and give you the energy to feel, think and do your best.
It's important for youth 9-13 years of age to have 6 servings of vegetables and fruit every day, while females aged 14-18 require 7 servings, and males 14-18 require 8 servings. And guess what? It's not as difficult as it may sound. We've got some quick tips that will get you eating mountains of the good stuff. No sweat.
- Toss some cut up apples and pears in a plastic bag with some cinnamon and brown sugar.
- Add fresh, frozen or canned fruit to ice cream, yogurt, or even cereal.
- Add some veggie toppings to foods that you like, such as pizza, burgers and pasta.
- Toss some grated cheese and salsa over a baked potato.
- Get the blender blending-make a fruit smoothie!
